2004

Giffnock Soccer Centre (GSC) was founded in 1995 by a group of dads keen to teach their children the rudiments of football in a safe and fun environment. We are now one of the biggest clubs of our type in the country with over 1000 boys and girls currently at the club, The club is run entirely by over 200 volunteers and coaches.

Our 2004 age group has grown to 56 players playing in five 7-a-side teams. We train midweek and take part in games each Saturday morning either in the PJ&D or ERSDA Leagues. Most of the boys have been with us since Primary 1 where they started at the Soccer Centre’s Mini Kickers. They have developed through ‘fun fours’ football (4-a-side) into a more advanced 7-a-side format.

Our teams are run by 14 coaches who use their spare time to provide the boys with the chance of playing football and developing their skills. All our coaches have been disclosed and have the required ERSDA minimum of SFA Level 1 & 2 coaching qualifications. Whilst ERSDA requires only one First Aider at 7-a-sides per age group, we currently have 4 coaches who hold valid certificates.

If you are interested in getting your child involved, the Soccer Centre is also available for new boys or girls wanting to play football. On joining the Soccer Center, players will be assesed by the coaches to see if and when they are ready to be involved in a team. However, we are currently at maximum capacity therefore new teams can only be accommodated if there are enough volunteers willing to coach.

If you are interested in joining Giffnock Soccer Centre, or indeed are interested in joining the coaching set up, then please feel free to contact any of the coaches listed in the Contact Us Page.
