Girls and Disability Development Officer

As you all know over the past few months we have been actively seeking a Girls and Disability Development Officer to take the club forward.

We would like to introduce and congratulate Ryan Quinn as our new Development Officer.

This is a four-year position which is part funded by a Direct Club Investment grant from SportScotland.



Ryan QuinnRyan has a University Honours Degree in Sports Studies from Stirling University as well as an extensive background in football coaching.

While at University he worked within the grassroots and academy setup of Falkirk FC and Stirling Albion FC as well as coaching in the Scottish FA’s Performance Schools.

He currently holds his Level 5 Advanced Children’s Licence and Youth Award.

Ryan’s coaching experience has taken him to America and New Zealand where he has recently returned from working with their FA.


Development Officer Role

Ryan’s primary role is to increase the numbers of girls and players with a disability within the club structure as well as increasing the number of coaches currently involved in the girls and disability setup.

Not only that, Ryan has a commitment to the coach education and mentorship of current and new coaches and will be putting in place a support network to actively assist and guide coaches where possible.

Coaches Wanted

CoachesWantedRyan has already highlighted the fantastic opportunity within the club for a coach to work with our Giffnock United Pan-Disability Squad, where we currently have a squad of 14 players with a range of disability/additional support needs.

We are looking for an enthusiastic coach to head training nights on a Monday 7.30pm – 9pm and to be involved with any disability events the squad are involved with.

Ryan’s responsibility will be to act as a support to the coach and will assist on training nights, attend disability events and support them through relevant training schemes.

In addition we are looking to boost the number of coaches involved in Giffnock Girls from the U9s through to the U15 squad.
